Lewis Hamilton finishes second in Mexico City, but it didn’t matter

Lewis Hamilton finished second in Sunday’s Mexico Formula 1 Grand Prix in Mexico City. It may have mattered to him from an ego standpoint but not from a points standpoint because he wrapped his second-consecutive world drivers’ championship the week before, winning the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas.

Hamilton finished second to Nico Rosberg in Mexico, who was anything but gracious after finishing second to his teammate and rival in Austin. Both drive for Mercedes. Valtteri Bottas, who drives for Williams, finished third in Mexico City.

As of the Mexico City Grand Prix, Hamilton has earned 345 points to Rosberg’s 272 for the World Drivers’ Championship. Sebastian Vettel, who drives for Ferrari, has 251 points.

The Brazil Grand Prix on Nov. 15 and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Nov. 29, complete the 2015 Formula 1 Racing season.

African American History, U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush (D., Ill), wrote in a letter to constituents. “This decision follows a letter that I sent to the Chicago Park District Board in 2012 to name a city landmark after Dr. Burroughs,” Rush said.”I’m very pleased that we have reached an agreement to name 31st Street Beach and Park after Dr. Burroughs.”

Margaret Goss Burroughs and her husband, Charles Burroughs, founded the museum in 1961 in their South Side home. Originally called the Ebony Museum of Negro History and Art, it was later renamed to honor Jean-Baptiste DuSable, Chicago’s black founder. Dr. Burroughs died at 95 in 2010. Charles Burroughs died in 1994.
